Ruth Ann Dodman and Linda Heyninck explained that when their Branch, The Hon. Ray Lawson Branch 28 Legion, heard about the theft of several toys from Chatham Goodfellows, members wanted to do something to help out. They decided to run their own toy drive over a two week span. Many committees including the former Colour Guard Unit donated a large sum of money to buy toys. The Tuesday Euchre League, Veterans and Executive members also donated unwrapped toys. Some of the donors said it was the first time they had ever done something of this nature and they felt good about doing so.
